Paving The Way

Below is a chronology of communication between People for Safe Vaccines and the government,relating to the rollout of the covid-19 vaccines.

Nov 5, 2020 - Letter to the Department of Health Secretary, Dr Murphy

​

Outlining concerns with the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines under the ‘fast-track’ approval process, and requesting reasons for the TGA’s decisions to grant provisional development approvals to AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

Dec 2, 2020 - Response from the Secretary in the Department of Health

​

Providing information on the TGA approval process for the vaccines and the reasons for, and effect of, the provisional determinations granted to AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

Jan 8, 2021 - Our reply to the Department of Health Secretary, Dr Murphy

​

Raising further concerns from a consumer perspective in relation to the safety and efficacy of the vaccines, and requesting the government commit to timely public disclosure of accurate product information and prohibit any undue pressure being imposed on people to take the vaccine.

Giving assurances that the government is taking careful steps to ensure that all legal requirements are observed and foreshadowing a public information campaign.

Feb 2, 2021 - Letter to the Health Minister, Greg Hunt 

​

Responding to the decisions to make vaccination voluntary and to approve the Pfizer vaccine for supply, detailing extensive shortcomings of the Pfizer and TGA documentation, requesting clear and specific warning information be given to the public at every step to ensure informed consent, and raising particular questions as to the indemnities and exemptions granted.

Response from the Department of Health noting safety concerns raised regarding the Pfizer vaccine, refusing to provide details of indemnities given to manufacturers and providing information regarding labelling.

Response to the Department of Health requesting clarification as to what action the Minister intends to take to prevent the serious health risks associated with the Pfizer vaccine and reminding them of his responsibility to protect vulnerable Australian public.

Mar 03, 2021 - Letter to all respective Safework and/or Worksafe Regulators in each State and Territory

Outlining concerns with employers trying to mandate COVID-19 vaccination, and seeking government to commit to publishing guidance that clarifies that employers do not have power to force vaccination. 

Apr 01, 2021 - Letter seeking methods of isolation of the Sars-CoV-2 virus in Australia 

​

Letter to Dr Leon Caly, scientist at Doherty Institute and lead author of the March 2020 paper claiming to have isolated the Sars-CoV-2 virus in Australia.  The letter asks various questions relating to the methods of isolation and characterisation of the virus, which raise issues of whether there are significant gaps in the science.

Apr 16, 2021 - Letter seeking repeal of overseas travel ban

Letter to the federal Health Minister requesting the repeal of the overseas travel ban directives on the grounds they are unlawful and not scientifically-based.  People should only be restricted from leaving the country where they are properly diagnosed to cause a genuine contagion risk in accordance with established medical practice.

Jun 08, 2021 - Letter seeking to impose an immediate suspension on covid-19 vaccinations

Letter to the federal Minister for foreign affairs requesting an investigation into the aetiology of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and an immediate suspension on covid-19 vaccine rollout pending the outcome. 

Dated Jun 22, 2021 - Received Jul 06, 2021 - Letter from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Response from Sue Langford of the Arms Control Branch, advising that the Australian Government is a strong advocate of the Biological Weapons Convention and informing us that it is working with the World Health Organization and the International community on a review into the origins of COVID-19. Here they acknowledge that they welcome the vaccines and advise that the TGA continues to assess safety and efficacy.

Jul 02, 2021 - Letter seeking to appoint an analyst to investigate the vaccines as potential bioweapons, and suspending vaccine roll-out pending the outcome

Letter to the Minister for Foreign Affairs asking the government to appoint an analyst to investigate the vaccines as potential bioweapons, and to immediately suspend the roll-out, including all or any mandates.

Dated Dec 19, 2021 - Received Dec 20, 2021 - Letter from Assistant Secretary Pharmacovigilance Branch Health Products Regulation Group

Response from Elspeth Kay on behalf of Health Minister Greg Hunt, assuring that the TGA's focus is keeping Australians safe and outlining their evaluation process to ensure the vaccines meet their standards, however they fail to address any of the concerns and questions we outlined relating to the Pfizer Report Post-Market Safety Data Disclosure.

Letter to Health Secretary Dr Brendan Murphy, seeking a substantive response by 11 March 2022 to our earlier communication dated 28 January 2022, requesting to cancel provisional registrations for covid-19 vaccines for children and request to recall good.
